In late 2018 Gray started DRC with another Vienna, Virginia boy, Danny Tucker. Shortly after recording demos with Tucker, Gray met the great up-and-coming fiddler, Bailey Warren, his future wife. The three crowdfunded, recorded and released their first album 'Kettleridge', an ode to his childhood cabin in the blue ridge mountains. Notably featuring Rico Wallenda, mandolin, on a few tracks.
As the ways of Nashville began to shape the band, Tucker stepped away from the group. Gray and Warren then linked up with fellow collegiate bluegrassers Ali Vance, lead vocals, and Jonny Therrien, guitar/dobro.
After playing countless hours around Nashville bars the downriver finds a sound. DRC begins making its first splashes in the wide open world of bluegrass in 2023 as they release 'Off the Shelf.' The EP is well received by Sirius XM and the IBMA's. In 2024 the group has now been nominated for the 'Momentum Band of the Year' Award. Gray is a songwriter, singer, and banjo/guitar with DRC.
